I love the smell of breakfast in the morning! It's even better when there's classic cars and old planes...

About the event

WATTS FOR BREAKFAST??”

Sunday 20th November 2022

Watts Bridge Memorial Airfield

801 Cressbrook-Caboonbah Rd, CRESSBROOK

The ‘Watts for Breakfast??” event is a regular get-together put on by the Watts Bridge Memorial Airfield Committee where you’re going to get fed a traditional “pilot’s breakfast” of bacon, sausages, eggs, beans, mushrooms and toast with bottomless cups of tea and coffee to boot. It’s on from 7:30-9:30am, so we’re heading out really early.

<c>It’s going to cost you $15.00/adult payable on the day to the organisers on site and it’s a big, BIG feed😊</c>

After breakfast we’re going to be meeting members of the Queensland Warbirds & Vintage Aircraft Association(QWVAA) – that’s my old Club that I was in with Tom Fisher,  for those of you in  the  know  –  at  their  on-site Clubhouse for a look

around their aircraft. Expect to see a handful of YAK-52s, some Nanchang CJ-6s, a Wirraway and maybe even a P51D Mustang named Snooks!

The QWVAA will be taking to the air for some formation flying practice closer to midday, so feel free to stick around and check out their aerial manoeuvres for as long as you want.

I haven’t confirmed whether or not we can get the cars air-side for glamour pics with the planes, but I’m working on it. So be prepared for anything!
